About Me
Hi, I'm Bart, an amateur astrophotographer from the Netherlands.
By day, I'm a software engineer. By night, whenever the Dutch weather allows it, you'll find me outside chasing galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, and anything else the night sky is willing to reveal.
What started as a curiosity about astronomy gradually grew into a passion for astrophotography. Along the way I've learned that capturing deep-sky objects isn't just about collecting photons—it's about patience, problem-solving, and constantly learning something new. Whether it's improving image processing, modifying equipment, or simply waiting for a rare clear night, every image tells a story.
This website serves as both a gallery and a journal of that journey.
You'll find my latest images here, along with the stories behind them, the equipment I use, and the lessons I learn along the way. Some nights result in images I'm proud of. Other nights result in unexpected challenges and valuable experience. Both are part of the hobby, and both deserve a place in the story.
My current setup includes a modified Sky-Watcher 150P Dobsonian, dedicated astronomy cameras, and a growing collection of astrophotography tools. Like many hobbyists, I'm always experimenting, refining my workflow, and planning the next upgrade.
Whether you're a fellow astrophotographer, an astronomy enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys looking up at the night sky, I hope you enjoy following along.
Clear skies,
Bart
